Features

Everything on-call needs, minus the spreadsheet

One place to decide who is on call, reach them when something breaks, and pass the pager with context.

  • Rotation builder

Set up daily, weekly or follow-the-sun rotations across time zones. Rotaline shows gaps and overlaps before you publish.

  • Swaps and overrides

Request a swap in two clicks. The team lead approves it from email or chat, and the schedule updates for everyone.

  • Escalation policies

Multi-step escalation by push notification, SMS and phone call, so an unanswered page always reaches someone.

  • Handoff notes

A structured note at every shift change, with open incidents carried over automatically to the next person.

  • Calendar sync

Shifts appear in Google Calendar, Outlook or any iCal client, and update when a swap is approved.

  • Fairness report

On-call hours per person, including nights and weekends, so load stays even across the team.

How it works

From first alert to clean handoff in three steps

Most teams are live on Rotaline the same day they sign up.

  1. Step 1: Connect your alerts

Connect your alerting tools with a webhook or one of 40 built-in integrations.

    POST /v1/alerts
  2. Step 2: Build rotations

Build a rotation and an escalation policy for each service.

    payments-api · weekly
  3. Step 3: Hand off every shift

Hand off at the end of each shift; Rotaline reminds the outgoing person and notifies the incoming one.

FAQ

Questions teams ask before switching

Can I import my existing schedule from a spreadsheet?

Yes. Upload a CSV or paste rows from Google Sheets or Excel, and Rotaline maps names and dates to a rotation. It flags gaps and overlaps so you can fix them before publishing.

What happens if nobody acknowledges an alert?

The alert moves to the next step of the escalation policy, for example the secondary on-call after five minutes and then the team lead by phone. If the last step goes unanswered, the policy repeats until someone acknowledges.

Do you charge for SMS and phone calls?

No. SMS and phone alerts are included in the Team and Business per-user price, with no per-message fees.

Can contractors or people outside my company be on a rotation?

Yes. Invite anyone with an email address as a guest responder. Guests can take shifts, receive alerts and write handoff notes, and they count as regular users for billing.

How does the free trial work?

You get 14 days of the Team plan with every feature turned on, and no credit card is required. At the end, choose a paid plan or move to Free; your schedules and history stay in place.
